The Purple Earth Hypothesis
Acrylic on wood, 2016-2019
This is an astrobiological hypothesis suggesting early photosynthetic life forms were retinal-based rather than chlorophyll-based, making earth appear purple rather than green.
In essence, the primordial feminine cast spectacular waves of the color purple across the earth as she turned light into energy. This energy powered the evolution necessary to bring all of the complex operations of life, from building proteins to building the Megatropolis, into existence.
Losing gravity, the elemental feminine is in ascendency as trillions of photosynthetic retinal based microorganisms painted into these structures to be a replenishing source of light-based energy to power these orbiting way stations, shines purple once again. The color purple in this work is used to represent imagination, exploration and higher consciousness.
